Learn About CPR by Watching Videos

Ideally CPR technique should be learnt at a training session, but it is possible to gain basic knowledge of hands-only CPR by watching videos. However, this has to be followed up by practicing CPR hands-on. Since a mannequin would not be available at home, practicing may be done by including a friend or family member.

Most of the time bystanders hesitate to come forward because they are worried about hurting the victim who has suffered a sudden cardiac arrest.

A bystander would have better confidence if he or she had at least watched a video and practiced hands-only CPR. Performing some CPR, even if clumsily, is better than doing nothing at all, since the outcome in the latter case is death.
